15 minutes I’ll Never Get Back!

15 minutes I’ll Never Get Back!

Recently a client commented, “I feel like I’m saying and thinking ‘poor me’ all the time, and that’s so not me”… sound familiar? This is talking about what’s going on without expecting any positive change or outcome. This can be created by an imbalance of organ energy, eg. when kidney energy is out of balance we feel drained, creativity/ solutions are out of the question and so is sex ( kidney energy affects the libido); it could be the negative results of a pattern of feeling melancholy/ overlooked/ a sense of separation/ fear of loss and fiery anger. It may be the result of believing you have to do everything yourself or else it won’t get done. Or it could be another pattern entirely. With kinesiology/ neuro-training session we can identify what is going on for you specifically, AND shift it to find your true self.

In the meantime, it’s time to apply Einstein’s famous quote (paraphrased)…if you keep doing something the same way and keep getting the same results (who woulda thunk it?) AND you are unhappy – CHANGE the way you are doing it. ( The Living Life Passionately workshop would be a GREAT way to do that!)

We are now in the last 2 weeks before the Spring Equinox, the official end of winter, and there is a LOT of pushing up hill going on. While getting excited about the occasionally warmer, longer days there is also frustration, a feeling of fatigue with the perception of ‘not enough time to do things’ and a HUGE workload still ahead.

This is the time to pace yourself…it’s a time of rapid change.

And it’s time to nurture yourself. Here’s a tip from Jost Sauer’s book The Perfect Day Plan (Tania @ Ambroisa sold me a copy last week and it’s taken me back to my original love of kinesiology and the influence of chinese medicine… such common sense, listening to the body!) Take some quiet time for yourself between 7-9am (“Stomach time”) , eat a warm breakfast of oats or buckwheat pancakes, turn off the tv, the radio, the email and spend time with yourself. Just 20minutes, even at your desk, will make a profound difference to your day. You will find you have plenty of time to do what you need to, and no longer be chasing the clock, because you have filled your spirit and fulfilled your needs first.

Many years ago I lived on the northern end of Campbell Pde Bondi…just at the turn as City to Surf marathon runners would get their first glimpse of the beach, and the finish line. They’d then speed up, then crash and burn…the paramedics knew this. They camped on our front lawn to catch and resuscitate the runners as they first clutched their chests. Learn to pace yourself.

This time of year carries many deaths- either loss of life or loss in life. When the energy to step from the Winter, the end of the cycle, into Spring, the beginning of the new cycle, is too great to accomplish. It’s when dead limbs drop off trees to harbour new life on the forest floor. Experience has taught me there is no death, it’s truly a transition from one way of Being to another.

The perception of loss is what we deal with here…for every ‘death’ there is new life….the fear of loss is far greater than the loss itself whether it is a loss of a job, relationship or way of life. Changing course offers an opportunity to thrive and prosper. As a client smsd me this week after becoming unwell from working in (her words) a ‘toxic’ job…”Don’t know how many more signs I needed”.

Another common remark lately has been “ That cost me 15minutes of my life that I’ll never get back”. Meant as humour, after listening to friends or dealing with customer service departments, when I hear it I instantly feel a knife through my heart. It’s an indicator that we have lost connection with our spirit, compassion and patience. Every person we have contact with each day gives us an opportunity to learn about ourselves – our ability to love, forgive, and share the positive. ESPECIALLY those that are difficult.

Part of my corporate life included business to business customer service/BDR roles. I’ve been told to take a hike in more ways than you would think possible. Always, I remembered the person at the other end of the phone was as human as I. It still surprises me how shocked store attendants and wait staff are when I ask if they have had a good day. Often I am thanked and told it is rare that anyone asks.

I have my moments too. The injustice of how people behave to each other is to me the equivalent of asking the Dalai Lama about China or a red rag to a bull– pilot fluid. It’s much easier to take responsibility for your thoughts and energy, keeping them positive, and take ‘control’ of your life vs someone taking ‘control’ of it. Just remain present in each moment… (If you’ve forgotten how, headhold and breathe and email me for the pdf).

If you are experiencing feelings of “poor me”, fatigue, feeling a fear of loss, find yourself saying I ”Don’t know how many more signs I needed” or “ that’s 15minutes I’ll never get back” it’s a good time to make an appointment or attend Living Life Passionately…to clear the old patterns of thinking and feeling, to be kind to you, be compassionate, be patient, be ready to forgive and to love….to be ready for the Spring.

And remember to pace yourself.

Looking forward to seeing you in an appointment, at the Coffee and Chat next week or Living Life Passionately soon.

All the best always,

Deb
