Creating the Christmas and NY Celebrations You Want

Well, it’s already here. The busy frantic December we can dread all year. And all reports advise that this December has no signs of slowing down so Your Mission If You Choose to Accept It is to CREATE the Energy of The Celebrations you want.

This time of year for many faiths is a time of Celebration.

While Christians celebrate Christmas as the birth of Jesus Christ, Jews celebrate Hanukkah or “Festival of Lights”, an 8 day observance which recalls a miracle in the Jerusalem temple.

On December 8 Buddhists celebrate Bodhi Day – the day Buddha is believed to have achieved enlightenment. Muslims celebrate the holy Id al-Adha, the Feast of Sacrifice, immediately following the Hajj, pilgrimage to Mecca, and the Wiccans celebrate Yule, which is where the term Yuletide comes from.

Working with the knowledge that What You Focus On Grows, NOW is the time to CREATE the energy of Your Celebratory Season.

This is a 3 Step Process:

1. Create a Theme for Your Celebratory Season

From what I hear, many of you are enJOYing the benefits of become an expert at creating a Theme of the Year over the last few years. So let’s apply it to your Celebratory Season. Full instructions included for those who need a polish and those new to this.

So what’s Your Theme?

This is The BIG picture approach to Goal Getting. Your theme will influence your Choices for the Celebratory Season ahead. If you choose to accept this Mission, each decision you make from NOW until Your Season is complete ( January 1 or 31?) will be based on your new theme.

Think about it.

Everything on your To Do List has a number of reasons for doing them…you go to work to pay the bills to live where you want and play as you want…what does this give you? Are you doing it just to tick the boxes on your To Do list? Or is there a higher purpose…to be happy? to be fulfilled? to be generous? to be kind? to be noticed/ admired? to be financially secure? to be healthy?

Your way of Celebrating, gift buying, feast creation and partying also work this way.

Imagine your Theme for Your Celebratory Season is Happiness.

Every time you make a choice you can ask yourself

“Is this Choice likely to bring me Happiness?”

If so, is this happiness likely to be short term or long term?

Then make your decision accordingly.

Applying the Theme of Happiness 2015 when you are feeling stuck or blocked You could ask yourself, “What can I do right now that will bring me happiness in support of my goals?” as examples your responses could be “Go for a Walk” , “Stick to the Budget”, “Be kind to a stranger”, “Call a friend”, “How can I Share the Joy?, “ Headhold and Breathe”, “Forgive and Forget” ,“Go for a swim” or “Write in my journal”.

Then go DO IT.

Apply any Theme to this process and test it out for 7 days. You may find it evolves into something else. If so well and good- this is all about finding clarity and focus. Then your Theme for the Celebratory Season can do it’s true work.

By defining your theme for Your Celebratory Season you no longer ‘do for the sake of doing’, your actions become in support of Your and Your Goals.

And that’s the definition of Positive Change.

So what’s Your Theme?

2. Create The Spiritual Agenda

Life at this time can be fast, busy and an emotional rollercoaster. Before you start your celebrations can I suggest that you write a list:

“The Top 5 Important Understandings and Learnings”

that you want to gain over the next 4 weeks (that includes NYE).

They could be new understandings or learnings about yourself and your relationship with yourself, others and Life; about family members or friends you conflict with; about Life itself.

Then describe what that sense would bring to you….

peace, grace, calm, joy, love, completion?

Here are 2 examples:

“It is now December 27, 2015 and all the Christmas visits are over. I have a new understanding of why I behave/ think/ feel the way I do about (mum/ dad/ sister/ brother/ partner/ situation/ etc) and I now have a sense of peace/ calm/ acceptance, etc .”

Or, “It is now January 3, 2016 and I have had a Christmas filled with lots of love and laughter. I have a new understanding of (mum/ dad/ sister/ brother/ partner/ etc) and why they are who they are/ behave that way and I have a new sense of respect for them.”

Why do this exercise? It helps set your Inner GPS toward creating the Life You are Meant to Live – filled with love, commitment, purpose, passion and Spirit. Let me know how it works for you.

The Process

Swish water around your mouth to wake up the brain then follow it with a normal mouthful of water to hydrate. Headhold and breathe…place your hand across the forehead and the other hand across the back, base of the skull. This adds blood flow to the frontal lobe and the limbic system (Home of Emotions), and to the back brain…bringing you back into Present Time whilst calming you down.Headholding and breathing helps all quadrants of the brain to talk to each other giving you a Whole brain response.

Now BREATHE through your NOSE: In for 4, hold for 2, OUT for 4, hold for 2 and repeat 9 times. The 3rd time you may feel more agitated/upset. The 6th breath you may feel fine. On the 9th breath you activate a deep relaxation response and connect with your Inner Self. Notice.

Imagine a celestial vacuum cleaner zooming around you cleaning out your emotional residue –wherever you feel heavy, sick, sad, angry in your body, let the vacuum cleaner clean it up. When it’s gone and you feel lighter DESTROY the vac. Send it to the sun, into a volcano, put it in a vat of acid. Nothing is to remain, it must be completely destroyed.

Shake out your arms.

Headhold and breathe, swish some water.

Now begin to imagine what life will be like at your Christmas Party , Christmas Eve/ Day, New Years Day…all Celebrations. How do you walk, talk, hold yourself at this time? What are you doing at this time that is evidence that your life has changed by letting go of the stress? Write it down, the brain loves detail, so write it all down. The scene, the sense you get (eg.calm, fulfilled, at peace..).

Notice where you feel it in your body, breathe into that space in your body. Remember what you focus on grows, so feel that sense growing. Give it a colour- the first that comes to mind. Imagine it, feel it filling that space.

Now, give yourself a BIG self hug. Tell yourself 1 thing you are proud of doing today or 1 wonderful quality you love about yourself. Breathe it in.Squeeze, like you REALLY mean it.

3. NOW Go DO IT! Action makes Affirmations Reality.

Wishing you a loving, laughter-filled and Spirited Festive Season.

Hey Deb,

How do I become more Sensitive to Others?

And how do I Cleanse past relationship jewellery?

On the back of last week’s Breathe Newsletter question “Hey Deb, Am I an Empath? ” I received some really great questions. Thankyou! Keep them coming!

Like these 2 :

1. How does one become more sensitive and understand how others are feeling? Through meditation?

Understanding is one thing… even by walking in another’s shoes in an attempt to understand others we will experience Life in our own way, think and feel about it differently to others filtered through our own backlog of experiences to Life. We all walk our own path in Life and accepting Life, accepting Yourself and accepting others without judgement, creating stories or pre-text is a big step toward becoming more sensitive to others.

Just sitting and Be-ing with another, breathing and listening with them is an expansive tool to experience and to healing.

This leads to becoming more compassionate and kind. How? Learn by practicing kindness and compassion to Yourself. That negative dialogue in your head, that busyness in your life keeps you disconnected from your true self. And from others. Start to call “STOP!” when you hear that negative cycle beginning and Choose to think/ speak postiively and kindly to yourself. Treat yourself as you would treat others. With respect, acceptance and love. Speak gently and kindly to yourself for your softness, your sincerity, your courage and bravery – they ALL come from the heart. Listen to your heart in return…it will always speak your loving truth to you. And headholding and breathing will help you hear your truth after the 9th repetition. All you BIG hearted givers- it is time you learn to be open to receive compassion and kindness from yourself, others and Life- who are you to deny them the JOY of the act of giving? Learn to receive graciously. Say Thankyou from your heart. Yes Meditation will help. And time in Nature 20 minutes each day sitting on the earth breathing deeply, watching the birds, the trees, the ocean, the light moving across the horizon… will deeply restore you and keep you connected to yourself and Life’s grandeur. So you can be aware of what others are feeling, because you are aware of YOU.

2. I have received questions about jewellery a lot over the years …

“I was wondering about energy associated with objects and how it can affect certain people.

For instance, if my ex-husband gave me a pretty neckless when we were married, perhaps I should not wear it anymore because it could contain the negative energy associated with the suffering in our marriage or at it could adversely affect a future relationship? Is this so? Also, could i give it an energy clean and pass it on to our daughter to wear? Or would it adversely affect her too? Could i give it to anyone else?”

Jewellery carries our energy, especially if we were attached to it and the person who gave it to us. They are mental symbols of event memories to the brain and they carry the energy of the intention of the gift. So if a relationship is over…cleanse the jewellery (same goes with old beds- use incense and candles. Ask me for details) .

Eucalyptus oil is a great jewellery cleanse. As you rub the jewellery ask for the old energy to be released and replaced wiith Divine Love, Healing Energy, Your Love and Joy. It may take a lot of cleansing! So you may need to repeat your favourite childhood prayer WITH LOVE as you rub. Old prayers are powerful healers. You can give it away with the intention of love, joy and healing. Or give it away anonymously to the Salvos or Red Cross ….the energy can be released by the act of pure giving.

Keep your questions coming! And enJOY your week!

Be kind and true to Yourself, Listen to You Inner Voice. I do.

All the best,

Deb
