How Would Your Life Be Different Without Your Fears?

Quote for the Week

“Simplicity, Patience, Compassion.

These are your greatest treasures.

Simplicity in actions and thoughts, you return to the source of being.

Patient with both friends and enemies you accord with in the way things are.

Compassionate toward yourself you reconcile all beings in the world.”

Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching

How Would Your Life Be Different Without Your Fears?

In the Breathe Newsletter over the last 3 months we have discussed Winter as the easiest time to release your fears. As we enter the last week of Winter I am offering some different insight and an exercise to assist you to leave your fears behind and create the life you are meant to be living.

Across this Winter I have had the privilege to assist clients in their personal consultations release fears about relationships, self confidence/ doubt, sex, their work, money, self image, their children and the future.

It is for this reason I call clients ‘the bravest people I know’ because it takes courage and boldness to face and release fears, and a firm conviction life will be much better without them – they can then live their true purpose and life.

Winter is THE time of year to ‘go within’ and discover who you truly are. In Chinese medicine it is “Kidney/ Bladder” time…an opportunity to stop any ‘leaks’ (like energy or money) , prevent feeling “drained” and stabilise the core, no. 1 tank of energy in your body.

It’s also the time that Fears come to the surface to help you heal them so you can live the life you are meant to be living.

Especially the fears that stop you in your tracks, prevent you from moving forward, keep you stuck.

These are the fears that you create new habits around and tell stories to justify, the great lengths you go to ‘defending’ the fear. “I can’t because of….my upbringing/ family/ injury/ past history…”

Experience may have taught you the fears are well justified, that there were real reasons to keep the fear. And your brain will keep hold of the fear for fear of the pain repeating itself, even though the time that the fear may have been relevant has now passed.

And we know that what you focus on grows. Focus on the fear and the fear gets bigger.

Bury fears deep in subconscious and attempt to deny and ignore them, the more powerful they become….revealing themselves at the strangest of times.

So instead of asking “where did that come from?” you could ask “ WOW! I must have the energy to heal this…what’s the next step to letting this fear go?”

Facing and releasing fears develop self esteem and self worth. Think about when you learnt to walk…when you got up and steadied yourself on your chubbie little legs as a toddler and took a few wobbles and staggers and fell, no one patted you on your head and said “that’s okay kiddo, maybe walking isn’t your thing. We can get you a walker like Grandma instead”.

Instead you stumbled and fell a million times and got to your feet a million and 1 times with the innate belief and KNOWING that you would walk and run. And your confidence grew. Before you knew it you were running around parks, maybe climbing trees and rocks. Each time you did this, you extended your boundaries of what you knew as Your World. Your confidence grew, with your self worth and self value.

So to assist you to release the fears holding you back from walking with ease into the life you are meant to be living I have included the following….

The Fears Awareness Exercise

Find a sheet of paper and pen, get yourself comfortable, light a candle or some incense if you wish…

Write a list of your long term fears.

What have you done with each to release them?

What do they stop you doing?

Do you feel better about yourself for having these fears?

Do you feel less than yourself – how?

Do they stop you from being the kind of person you want to Be?

What qualities does that person have?

What do you spend time and energy doing to compensate for them?

Now, Headhold and Breathe and ask yourself “If this fear no longer existed what would I be doing instead?” Write it down.

Then Headhold and Breathe and ask,

What’s the next step toward making that happen?

Focus on It. Go Do It.

Life Rewards Action.
