I Am Amazing and A 2-Minute Story

Today’s Quote

“Most people live – whether physically, intellectually or morally – in a very restricted circle of their potential being. We all have reservoirs of life to draw upon of which we do not dream.”

William James

I Am Amazing

I am just back in the office after a heartwarming trip to the Gold Coast last weekend. It was wonderful to see so many of you for sessions, to share with you in meditation and to connect over dinner afterwards. I am really looking forward to seeing you all again and “Orienteering” through my next visit in July.

I took a couple of days off after the visit to enjoy one of my greatest passions, a Road Trip through country NSW with “Stedman” as some of you have named my nearest and dearest friend  of 11 years.

Serendipity joined us on the Road Trip…you know serendipity: it shows up when you are living in Present time and in the Flow. Things just fall into place, because you’ve removed the obstacles to receiving the very best in life.

After following the New England Highway for most of the day, we arrived in Tamworth right on sunset- THE most awe inspiring sunset I have seen in a long time. Truly magnificient. The next morning we drove around and came upon the Oxley Lookout with views as far as you can imagine. A great place to breathe and be inspired.

As it turns out Smokey Dawson and his wife Dot are buried there….after 80 years of doing what they loved doing, entertaining others, they died last decade just 2 years apart. That’s how you know you are living life passionately- with love, commitment and purpose – you do it for 80 years! That’s impressive in any industry and most especially in music!

While we were driving from the park I was pondering all this when out of the corner of my eye I caught sight of a bright blue plaque. I was so surprised by it’s inscription we went round the park again to take a second look. “Stedman” drew the car to a sudden stop and leapt out to take a photo, saying “ This will look great in the newsletter!” with a cheeky grin. You’ll find the photo at the top of this email. Truly Amazing.

Serendipity. When you clear out the mental, emotional and energetic blocks to creating the life You are meant to be living…Life Rewards You with moments that fall into place just like this. Because you are in the Flow, living in the Present.

A part of this process is to make time for yourself to do what fills you up. It also includes making time each day to spend by yourself. Just 20 minutes makes a HUGE difference, just breathing, taking in the scenery, being grateful, noticing how you are feeling and making self care choices moving forward. Choices that nourish you and fill you up.

When you are huge hearted and care for others in your life it is vitally important to nourish yourself in ways that fill you up from the inside. You become a much better, happier and fun care giver with clearer boundaries and give better quality caring. And those around you receive the benefits too.

This could start with simply looking in the mirror and repeating “I am Amazing” 3 times while looking yourself in the eyes. It’s a wonderful and simple technique creating profound healing and was created by Louise Hay, founder of Hay House Publishing and Radio, who is now 84 years old, still doing what she loves doing. Living Life Passionately, living with love, commitment and purpose.

The exercise can take some practice as you get comfortable with it, so do it 3 times a day for 7 days and note down how you feel afterwards. You can use any phrase, Louise has a huge array in her book You Can Heal Your Life or more recently, with Cheryl Richardson,  You Can Create an Exceptional Life, as long as the affirmation is loving and positive. After all, if you can’t receive love and praise from yourself, how can you receive it from others and believe it?

Of course, if you are looking for some committed time for You, make time to come along to Meditation Class on Wednesday nights. Term 2 starts next week and it’s a great way to dedicate time to you, your healing and to develop focus and calm.

If you want to make a bigger commitment to yourself, Living Life Passionately starts Saturday next week and there are a few spaces available. Just call/sms/email me to book.

In fact, while I was away I received an email from Ash who completed Living Life Passionately at the end of last year describing his experience…

“My transformation started straight after Day 1, as I was able to use the tools we learnt to conquer my fear of heights and climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge – such an amazing and fulfilling experience! And, since graduating I now know what it is I desire in life and, I have the focus and direction achieve it. A truly life changing workshop! Thanks again Deb!”

2 Minute Story of the Week

“Hi Deb, the following experience is still making me laugh with joy! This story is reminds me of your fairy story. I was in Coogee on Valentine’s Day having lunch with a girlfriend. On my way back to the car which was parked half way up that massive hill where the surf club is I saw a little old woman with two bags of shopping about to attempt the hill. I went up to her and asked if I could help her with the bags. She politely said that they were balancing her out. We started to walk and chat. She said she was 94 and her apartment was at the top of the hill and that she has been climbing it for nearly 40 years. My jaw dropped. 94!!!!! Amazing. Then in her next breath she said “have you read The Fifty Shades of Grey I am on the third book.” Ok now my jaw was on the pavement. I started to laugh and told her I only got through the first book. Well she was such a character and had all her wits about her I walked up that hill arm and arm with her until we reached the top 45 minutes later. She told me these hilarious stories and I was mesmerised that this 94 year old had such a young heart and so hip with the times. If she was 40 she would of been coming out to dinner and dancing with me and my friends Saturday night. She is who I would love to be at 94!!!!!! Well we finally said our goodbyes and she said she hoped we would meet again. I left with my heart singing. And I couldn’t believe this wonderful woman came into my life. So later I was running around the park and thought I really want to show her how brilliant I thought she was. She also told me she left out a vase outside her door incase the mailman was going to bring her flowers for Valentines day so I thought I will be that mailman. So I rushed to her apartment to leave some roses and unfortunately I couldn’t get into the complex. So I have decided that I will drop I note into her letterbox this week to see if she wants to catch up for a champagne….she said she entertains a lot and loves champagne. What a scream! So you had your fairy and I got my Grace.”

Now that’s Living Life Passionately AND Ignite Your Heart in action!

Thankyou Dan and BRAVO!!

All the best,

Deborah
