Time to Celebrate Our Children!
Today’s Quote
“Happiness is that state of consciousness which proceeds from the achievement of one’s values.”

Time to Celebrate Our Children!
With the weather so blustery of late I was reminded of a ‘tip’ they gave us when I was training as a teacher over 2 decades ago…..never expect to teach anything when it was windy…”the class goes wild in the wind”.
Well, needless to say they knew nothing at teachers’ college about headholding and breathing! For the students AND the teachers. As plenty of the children, parents and teachers I have met will testify it’s an excellent tool to help focus and reorganise the brain and find calm in the most difficult of situations.
How funny!
In fact, one of the funniest sms’ I have received was from Janine, mother of twin 3 year old boys, “So cool, putting the boys to bed and James says, ‘Mum, can we do deep breath in and noisy breath out?” He wanted to head hold. The 3 of us doing it together and Lucas starts giggling and says ‘Are you guys crazy!”
I’ve also been told that headholding and breathing halves bedtime dramas (wow!) making bedtime easier and more pleasant. Some parents HH+B with their children and ask them for 1 thing they were proud of doing during the day, then the child gives themselves a hug, then the family gives them a hug. Growing self worth and wonderful dreams from the inside out. Love it!
Not so funny! Giving Up versus Letting Go
Others sms’ have been from stressed out, frustrated Mum’s declaring that the headholding and breathing didn’t work…sometimes it does take a minute or 2 as your own stress comes to the surface for you to release through breathing while re-organising your neurology and meridians by holding the front and back of your head. So rather than ‘giving up’, give it some time and let it go.
Wait! There’s More!
While headholding and breathing is a great ‘take home technique’ for children and adults alike, in a clinic session we get to find the cause of the stress and assist you to let it go. Those of you with children know I love working with kids – the drawings they leave pinned to my filing cabinet are only the beginning of the story.
Children set up the same emotional/ mental/ physical and energetic as adults and are less attached to keeping them…so they shift their stress and their habits, moods and other ‘defence patterns’ often a whole lot more easily and quickly.
Over the years I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with some remarkable little people from in-utero through to babies, toddlers, infants, pre-school and school kids- to big kids like yourself!
Sometimes patterns reveal themselves as travel sickness, bedwetting, biting/tantrums, emotional/energetic sensitivity and sleeping problems other times it can create problems at school….lack of focus, difficulty with comprehension, memory storage and recall, or making/ keeping friends and fears of failing/ succeeding. And we work with all of this in clinic to create happy, healthy, balanced children. A great reason to make an appointment.
Bravo Isabella!
Last week I was thrilled to learn that Isabella, one of Deb’s Community’s long term and least bossy (read the attached article to get that) members, has had a huge win! Congratulations Isabella! With her Mum’s permission you’ll find more in the article here.
Just as with adults, kinesiology/ neuro-training honours the uniqueness of each child and assists them to become their happy, healthy, amazing true selves. AND we have a whole lot of fun doing it!
Looking forward to seeing you for an appointment, event or workshop soon,
All the best,
Deb
