What’s Your Theme for 2016?
Quote for the Week
“Humanity’s task: to create a field of light so bright, a wave of love so powerful, and a push for change so palpable that anything and everything that stands in its way will fall of its own dead weight. “
– Marianne Williamson
What’s Your Theme for 2016?
The thought of creating New Year Resolutions can feel frustrating, demoralising, passe or a waste of time for many, so over the last few years I have been asking clients to CHOOSE a Theme for the year ahead.
So what’s Your Theme for 2016?
This is The BIG picture approach to Goal Getting. Your theme will influence your Choices for the year ahead. If you choose to accept this Mission, each decision you make from NOW until December 31 will be based on your new theme.
Think about it.
Everything on your To Do List has a number of reasons for doing them…you go to work to pay the bills to live where you want and play as you want…what does this give you?
Are you doing it just to tick the boxes on your To Do list?
Or is there a higher purpose?
To be happy?
To be fulfilled?
To be generous?
To be kind?
To be noticed/ admired?
To be financially secure?
To be healthy?
To be successful?
Imagine your Theme for 2016 is Fulfillment.
Every time you make a choice you can ask yourself
“Is this Choice likely to bring me Fulfillment?”
If so, is this Fulfillment likely to be short term or long term?
Then make your decision accordingly.
Applying the Theme of Fulfillment 2016 when you are feeling stuck or blocked You could ask yourself, “What can I do right now that will bring me Fulfillment in support of my goals?” as examples your responses could be “Do work that is meaningful” , “ Watch the sunrise”, “Spend time with friends/ family”, “Spend quiet time with myself in Nature”, “ Headhold and Breathe”, “Meditate” or “Do what is spiritual for me”.
Then go DO IT.
Apply any Theme to this process and test it out for 7 days. You may find it evolves into something else. If so well and good- this is all about finding clarity and focus. Then your Theme for 2016 can do it’s true work.
By defining your Theme for 2016 you no longer ‘do for the sake of doing’, your actions become in support of Your and Your Goals.
And that’s the definition of Positive Change.
So what’s Your Theme?
Looking forward to seeing you soon.
Be kind. And True to You.
Wishing You all the VERY Best for 2016 and always,
Deb
